Great band, Great recording
I really enjoy the Cowboy Junkies and the Immersifi recording captures the true live-sound experience. It is a joy to listen to a live recording and feel like you're in the audience and hear such a high quality of sound, separation and clarity.

"I don't Get It by Cowboy Junkies" - THE MIX
The musicianship of CJ is great. Soul, sound and mood. Songwriting does not get better than this. Great grooves. Well done!
Now, the recording. When you think, that it's all captured live, and sounds BETTER than most of contemporary productions. I listened to FLAC on
Audiofire 12 > Mackie 1604 VLZ Pro with preamps bypassed ( tapped the inserts)> audiotehnika AT HM 50
Really "being there" sound. Not just being there, well balanced mix, pleasant mid range, warm round bass, drum sound is just right - detailed and spacious. Vocals are intimate, yet have nice reverb around it. The depth and width of this mix is much more exciting than anything on the radio at the moment. I felt like it was record from 70's.
I must say Mark A Jay is one very talented engineer. The guy is using 4 mics total - and it sounds so balanced. Obviously you need to spend years doing it, and have great pair of years to get it right like this.
Inspiring recording. Keep the soul alive!

You're in the room...
The clarity of the recording is stunning. Immersifi has done a superb job of creating a hybrid of binaural / stereo sourcing, with excellent balance between these mics. This is one of the better venues that the CJ's have recorded in, so it really shows off the capabilities of this type of High Def recording. Highly recommended.

Very Cool
I have been looking into binaural recording and I have always liked the Cowboy Junkies. I stumbled onto these recordings and I am very impressed with the quality of the recordings. It is very cool to listen to these through headphones as is suggested. I've listened to board feeds and other recordings of Wilco concerts, but this is something else entirely. Nice job to Immersifi for getting the Cowboy Junkies.

Being There
I can't believe my luck! No way could I afford to hear the Cowboy Junkies live at The Ark. Or so I thought. I've been a fan since The Trinity Sessions, but lost track of them after a show at Meadowbrook in the 90's. So good to be back. And speaking of The Trinity Sessions, this recording has some of the same precious open-air sound. It's just like being there at The Ark. I've got half-a-mind to gather up 50 of my closest friends w/headphones and a couple handfuls of splitters and have a "Just Like Being There" concert party. Is that legal? Sane?
Thanks for the recording, Immersifi! Much love to you and your crazy-sexy-cool mannequin-head microphones!

Totally Sweet Recording!!!
I am new to the Cowboy Junkies and starting to really dig them. From this interest, I heard about the company, Immersifi. These chaps are doing some innovative stuff for live recording. I am not sure how they do it, but these live recordings when listening through headphones, gives you an eerie feeling your are actually in the audience. It's like nothing I have ever heard. I am a musician coming from both a classical acoustic guitar and electric rock perspective, so it comes as no surprise to me how complicated recording the rich textures of a live environment can be. These Immersifi cats got it down. Of course all this recording is for nothing without the talent of Cowboy Junkies. What a great band. I look forward to exploring more of their music.

A Must Hear
If you're a Cowboy Junkies fan, or even just a fan of live recordings, this is a Must Hear (and through headphones). The depth of the tracks are fantastic.
Truly enjoyable.
